GladiatHer to Watch
Ok so, I had the brilliant idea (yes, I called my own idea brilliant) to start a new feature for the blog. As you can see, it’s called “GladiatHer to Watch.” It will consist of a daily shoutout to/heads up about a GladiatHer who’s doing her thing…someone worthy of praise and admiration. Without further ado, the inaugural GladiatHer to Watch is none other than University of Maryland’s Alyssa Thomas.
The senior forward for the Terrapins is truly a force to be reckoned with, one whose talent, drive and determination are unmatched. Standing at 6’2”, the hooper is a two-time ACC Player of the year and the only, I repeat only, player in NCAA or WNBA history to average over eighteen points (18.8), ten rebounds (10.3) and five assists (5.3) per game for an entire season. Her power and versatility have set her in the running for this year’s Player of the Year. She’s a fighter and a leader and certainly one to watch this season. Catch her this Friday at 6pm as the Terps duke it out with the UConn Huskies.
