Today we’re merging two of our classic features, GladiatHer® Wives and GladiatHer® Crush Wednesday, to introduce you to one outstanding woman. She’s a dedicated wife and mother, an entrepreneur and philanthropist and can make a party turn 0 to 100, real quick. To top that all off, she’s a proud graduate of the Real HU. Meet New Jersey’s own, Samantha Romantini Bethea aka DJ Spinvixen…
She’s the creator of vegan beauty products, a philanthropist, a real estate investor and a writer. But before all of that she’s a wife and mother of 3, soon-to-be 4, children. I’m not sure how one person has time for all of that but the first GladiatHer® Wives feature of 2017, Martavia Wynn, does it all with style and grace. She’s breaking the mold of what it means to be a stay-at-home mom by making a name for herself as a successful businesswoman who prioritizes her family over her business. Check out Mrs. Wynn:
For as long as sports have existed, athletes’ wives have existed. For much of their existence, however, athletes’ wives have remained seen but not heard; mere eye-candy that travels to support their spouses. While the media often got the inside scoop on their famous husbands, most of the public was left wondering what these women were really like and what they did all day. But with the advent of social media and reality television, the athletes’ wives, or as we like to call them GladiatHer® Wives, have increasingly become more vocal, noticeable (and dare I say household names) in society. These outlets and genuine interest in these women have afforded athletes’ wives the ability to form their own brands and streams of income while sharing a piece of their lives with the world.Continue reading
We’re closing out the month of September with our GladiatHer® Wives feature! It’s no secret at all how we feel about women and sports; we believe women play vital roles in sports and should be given more opportunities to show their capabilities. Today’s GladiatHer® Wives feature, Danisha Rolle, feels the same way, and for the past eight years she’s been working to make the connection between women and sports even stronger. As a wife, mother and entrepreneur, Danisha is showing the world exactly how vital women are in the sports industry. Have a look at what Danisha has to say: Continue reading
This month’s GladiatHer™ Wives feature is pretty awesome, but you already know that because all of our GladiatHer™ Wives are pure dopeness. Her name is Sarah Brown and she is a prime example of what it means to live a balanced, well-rounded life. She serves others while taking care of herself, sees that life is deeper than what’s on the surface and aspires to have an impact on society. She’s a true inspiration, and I hope you all enjoy learning about her as much as I did!Continue reading
We took a couple months off, but GladiatHer™ Wives is back and it was worth the wait! Recently, we got to sit down with a pretty extraordinary woman. With all that she does, you might easily mistake her for Wonder Woman. But she would prefer it if you called her LeShonda—LeShonda Martin to be exact. After discovering her true identity and purpose, LeShonda, a former Division I and Division III student-athlete, dedicates her time to helping other women define themselves, fight stereotypes and play active roles in their communities. I won’t give her entire story away, but I’ll let you know that by the end of this interview you’ll have know doubt that LeShonda Martin is a positive force to be reckoned with.
I bet you thought I forgot about this month’s GladiatHer® Wives feature, didn’t you?! Oh, ye of little faith, you’re totally wrong. It’s with great please that I bring you February’s Gladiather® Wife, Mrs. Mia Kennedy Wallace. I don’t want to spoil the interview, so I’ll just say that Mia truly epitomizes what the feature is all about. She has passions and aspirations outside of her role as a sports wife, but is simultaneously dedicated to her family and being the best wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend that she can be. Check her out!
